It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 13th International Mycological Congress (IMC13), which will be held from August 8–12, 2027, in Songdo, Incheon, Korea. As Chair of IMC13, I am delighted to invite you to this premier global gathering of experts, researchers, and industry leaders dedicated to advancing fungal science.

The IMC, held approximately every four years (three years in this cycle), is the most prestigious international congress in the field of mycology. IMC13 will showcase the latest research and breakthroughs across diverse areas, including fungal biology, ecology, evolution, molecular genetics and genomics, biotechnology, systematics, plant pathology, and medical mycology. The program will feature plenary and keynote lectures by world-renowned scientists, thematic symposia, workshops, poster sessions, and professional development opportunities for early-career researchers. Through these activities, the congress aims to foster scientific innovation, global collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge among the fungal research community.

Our host city, Songdo International Business District, is a modern and sustainable global hub conveniently located near Incheon International Airport (ICN) and easily accessible from Seoul. In addition to the scientific sessions, participants will have the opportunity to experience Korea’s rich cultural heritage, history, and modern attractions through organized excursions and special events.

IMC13 is organized by the Korean Society of Mycology (KSM) in collaboration with the International Mycological Association (IMA), with support from the Korea Tourism Organization and the Incheon Tourism Organization. This congress is expected to make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of mycological research and to strengthen international cooperation in fungal sciences.
